Vegas Kings Reviews

This book featured awesome characters and a really fun and hot relationship between Jack and Ellie. I loved how strong and independent Ellie was and she really wants to save herself instead of being handed money she does not earn.

Jack (Vegas Kings Book 1)

I almost DNFed this, but pushed through hoping it would get better. I really didn’t like Ellie she came across as an uptight ungrateful harpy. I didn’t understand why Jack liked her at all, except that I was told by the author he liked her for some reason. She acted like she had these deep seated rejection issues but per the story she had a great childhood and happy family. Her behavior did relax as we got deeper into the novel, though her insecurities never did.

This story was kinda boring, there was really just no umph. Even in the steamy bits, there really wasn’t any steam. It was annoying that Jack’s sister, Ellie’s best friend Bea, and her mom all seemed to always be able to know and intuit exactly how Ellie felt and what was on her mind. It was like the author couldn’t find a way to organically make it happen conversationally. It was also aggravating/distracting that there was this incessant label dropping. I know that this is about a group of millionaires but everything was Armani this, Versace that, with Chanel and Rolex thrown in. I found it so juvenile.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author duo, so maybe it’s just a one off. Others might like this better than I did. I’m not really interested in the rest of the series.

Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So I have never read this author before but it sounded like a very romantic story and so I couldn’t wait to check it out. This is a brand new series by the author and I loved this book so much that I cannot wait for the next one. Its very much an insta lust romance but also has an at work romance angle and also a very light mafia storyline.

First about this series, it feraures what is known as the Kings of Las Vegas. Its about 4 friends who play poker in Vegas and two own their own hotel and the other two, play high stakes poker. This is Jack’s story, he is a very wealthy man who runs a major Vegas hotel and he also loves to play poker. One of his best friends is getting married and he is tasked with a bachelor party.

We also meet Ellie and her mom. Her father has just died and he was a heavy gambler and he owes some big shots in Vegas a lot of money and the two women fear for their lives if they cannot get the money. The desperation that Ellie and her mom feel is what introduces Jack to Ellie and once he meets her, he falls very hard.

Jack was such a romantic. I loved how he chases Ellie to try and convince her to give him a chance with her. This book is not super realistic but I absolutely loved all the characters and this plot.

King’s Row RV Park

$5 dump is the beat deal in town – I’ve attached a map photo if you want to pull right up.
Unusually, the sewer port is actually in the pavement of the street and right next to a numbered site, look for the cone and the yellow painted word ‘dump.’

One of the ladies yelled at us upon entrance of the office because of limited number of people for social distance BS. When asked about pets they REFUSED to check out our dog because of weight limit?? Their website states “pets allowed at owners discretion” They wouldn’t even come meet my dog! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.

Good location for driving to the strip. Had great showers. Inexpensive laundry with a fresh coat of paint in the laundromat the day we were there. Little noise. Close to Boulder Casino

I had emailed asking about availability 2 days prior and finally heard back AFTER we checked in that they were “full through December”. (They were not-spots next to us open)
Doris was wonderful when I called and worked us into their “overflow” area last minute. We had 30 amp and water but no sewer. They do have free dump station on site but it was difficult to find-we left on Christmas Day and noone was working that day-no map provided on arrival. Another woman was working the desk when we arrived and asked if we had dogs. I said yes 2 and she asked their weight-apparently they don’t take dogs over 35 lbs without prior approval and Doris had failed to ask us. Gal made a call and gave us the okay for 2 nights only for our German Shorthair pointers.
Area is a little sketchy. I did walk the dogs along the sidewalks in the area and ran into homeless but they were all harmless and kept to themselves. I wouldn’t walk after dark personally. Never saw security. Guy who parked us was friendly. Laundry room was clean and reasonably priced. It’s quite far from the strip but that’s not what we were there for anyway. Ate down the street at the Boulder Station Casino-decent buffet on Christmas eve. Had good cell service and got over 20 over air channels.

Features:

From classic jousts and noble steeds to the evil fire-wizard Mordred, Excalibur’s Tournament of Kings Las Vegas presents a night of medieval fun that is sure to entertain the entire family. A dinner is also included, with a “serf” serving typical finger foods that don’t even pretend to be a gourmet meal.

What To Know:

Although the concept of Tournament of Kings dinner theater Las Vegas isn’t anything new, there’s something charming in the good old fashioned King Arthur-inspired entertainment that keeps us coming back.

  • Convenience: While we won’t even try to convince you that the dinner portion of Tournament of Kings Las Vegas is anything worth writing home about, there is still a convenience factor to appreciate with eating your dinner and being entertained at the same time. The location on the Strip is pretty sweet as well, even if you’re not staying at the Excalibur.
  • Family Friendly: Unlike many other Vegas shows (and the city in general), you don’t have to concern yourself over your little tyke seeing something inappropriate.
  • Cost Efficient: For such a large production, the approximately fifty bucks that you drop on this show is not too bad. Anytime a show has been running for more than 20 years, you’ve got to check it out at least once. Promotions and coupons are frequently available as well.

Inside Knowledge:

No photographs are allowed during the show, but there are opportunities to pose with your king afterwards.

“[A]n intense cross-cultural story of love…Watson’s portrayal of these characters is forceful and potent…the love that pervades the story is liberating.” —Shelf Awareness

Where Women Are Kings

“Watson paints a portrait of a world torn by issues of class, race, and belief…[T]he book becomes progressively more convincing, darker and unexpectedly comic as a lively cast of characters inject humor and a believable awkwardness into an often painful drama…[A] moving and complex picture. Watson is especially good at describing Elijah’s pleasure in the odd beauties of nature, as well as the wants and needs of domestic life. Elijah is never more heartbreaking than when he’s imagining all the people he loves brought together in one place.” —New York Times Book Review

“[Christie] Watson gracefully creates the delicate workings of a small household with an adopted Nigerian son at the center…Watson’s writing, with its gorgeous detail, is well suited to portraying the complexities involved in creating familial bonds, particularly the painstaking adoption process, and the daily life of a newly formed household. She has constructed a wonderful set of characters and a remarkable story of family love amid cultural and emotional tension.” —Booklist

“A multilayered, sophisticated book that gets to the heart of what family is and what we will do to love them.” —Kirkus Reviews

“[Christie] Watson…approaches the topic with expert knowledge of what a child like Elijah would have gone through, as well as tremendous empathy for her cast of characters. Where Women Are Kings is undeniably powerful.” —Publishers Weekly

“[A]n intense cross-cultural story of love…Watson’s portrayal of these characters is forceful and potent…the love that pervades the story is liberating.” —Shelf Awareness

“At times hauntingly heartbreaking, Christie Watson’s second novel explores race, family and the complexities of the Western foster system…Watson shows us the politics of adoption, the complexities of calling a stranger your son, and the capacity of love.” —The Riveter

Where Women are Kings does not coddle its readers, nor does it cling to the hysteria of melodrama. Watson’s controlled prose transforms Elijah into a boy as real and memory-soaked as a scar.” —The Toast

“Equally heartwarming and heartbreaking.” —The Jersey Journal

“Watson’s writing is magical and beguiling. Elijah, the protagonist of this novel, joins a distinguished list of fictional wunderkinder that stretches from Peter Pan to Oskar Matzerath of The Tin Drum to Azaro of The Famished Road. Watson is a fluent story teller.” —E. C. Osondu, winner of the Caine Prize

“In this very moving story, Watson confronts us with pain and loss. And yet, despite all of that, love ultimately wins.” —Chika Unigwe, author of On Black Sisters Street

“Christie Watson reeled me into this wise and moving portrayal of one family’s struggle to love fiercely to the haunting end. Young Elijah stayed with me long after the last page.” —Shilpi Somaya Gowda, best-selling author of Secret Daughter

“Christie Watson writes with compassion, insight, and a delicate beauty about a difficult and often overlooked subject—the intersections of race, family, fostering and the unexpected power of love.” —Chris Abani, author of GraceLand and The Secret History of Las Vegas

“Christie Watson writes with incredible commitment and understanding of her subject. Where Women Are Kings is a great follow up to her first novel, Tiny Sunbirds, Far Away, and I hope it finds the readers it deserves.” —Helon Habila, author of Oil on Water

“A beautifully sad novel… Watson’s words are beautifully lyrical…Watson leaves us with an unforgettable story that will make your chest tighten, your eyes leak and your heart lurch.” —In Style

Plumbing Kings LLC Employees

Nevada requires all contractors engaged in the business of residential or commercial construction to be licensed by the Nevada State Contractors Board.

Plumbing Kings Llc currently holds license 0081467, 81467 (C 1 D Plumbing, C 1 D Plumbing), which was Active when we last checked.

The qualifying individual for a contractor’s license is required to pass the written Business and Law (Construction Management Survey exam) and trade examinations unless he or she meets the requirements for a waiver.

Licensed contractors in Nevada must maintain an active workers’ compensation insurance policy. State law does not require contractors to carry general liability insurance, but it is always a good idea to only hire contractors who are covered under an up to date policy. Request copies of the insurance certificates for both general liability and workers compensation.

Licensed contractors in Nevada must obtain a surety bond before performing any construction related work. Homeowners may file claims against this bond in the event of faulty workmanship, breach of contract. In addition, homeowners of single-family residences who have entered into a contract with a licensed residential contractor since October 1, 1999, have suffered actual damages, and have exhausted all other means of recovery, may submit a claim on the Residential Recovery Fund established by the Nevada legislature.

Plumbing Kings Llc has a $5,000 bond with Platte River Insurance Company.

All licensed contractors in Nevada must submit their fingerprints for the purpose of conducting a criminal background check.

The BuildZoom score is based on a number of factors including the contractor’s license status, insurance status, verified work history, standing with local consumer interest groups, verified reviews from other BuildZoom users and self-reported feedback from the contractor.

When it comes to major construction work or even minor alterations to your home, hiring the wrong contractor could result in incomplete or defective work. You may even find yourself dealing with huge liability claims. BuildZoom does the homework for you and helps you hire the right contractor.

Before hiring a contractor in Nevada, be sure to get at least 3 detailed bids. Quality contractors will take the time to explain their budget proposal, and help guide you through the estimate process. Be wary of an abnormally low bid, they are not worth the risk. These underpriced projects often do not end well for the homeowner, choose a contractor you trust and can clearly communicate with. BuildZoom has made the bid collection process extremely simple (and free). Just click here to get started.
